When is the 2016 Turkey Trot?

The race is on Thanksgiving morning - Thursday November 24th 2016. The race day tentative schedule is as follows:

6:15 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. Race day registration
7:30 a.m. 1K Fun Run starts
8:00 a.m. 5K Run/Walk starts
9:15 a.m. Awards Ceremony

Where is the race held?

The 5K race and 1K fun run starts and finishes in the beautiful, scenic downtown Claremont Village. Runners will gather on 1st street near the train depot. (1st Street and Harvard Avenue).

Can I register online?

Yes, we recommend that you register online. It is the easiest and most efficient way to make sure you are registered for the race. Generally, early registration pricing is less than race day pricing so make sure to register early. Simply click on the register now button or the registration drop down menu and follow the easy steps to register for the race.

Can I also make a charitable contribution in addition to the race fee?

Yes, Claremont Sunrise Rotary Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization and your contributions are tax deductible. We welcome your contributions as the funds go directly to support and change lives in our local community and internationally. At the end of the registration process there will be a chance to add a contribution before the final check-out and payment.  

Can I pick up my race bib and other items before race day?

Yes, you can pick up all items the day before the race on Wednesday November 23rd 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. outside the Train Depot on 1st Street and Harvard Avenue.

Can I register in person?

Yes, you can register the day before the race on Wednesday November 23rd 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. outside the Train Depot on 1st Street at Harvard Avenue. You can also register on race day, Thursday November 24th 2016 from 6:15 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. on 1st Street and Harvard Avenue. Please be advised that registration prices can increase from the early registration prices. So please try to register online early and save.

Can I register a team?

Yes, you can register a team through our online early registration. Simply have each member of your team register under the registration link. There will be a drop down menu where you can select or add your team name. Please be advised that every person will need to register individually but can select the team once it’s been created from the drop down menu during registration.

How can I confirm my registration?

If you have registered online, under the Registration Menu, simply select “Confirm Registration” and you will be able to search for your name and make sure you are registered.

What is in my packet?

You will receive your bib at our registration table(s) and you will then need to go to the t-shirt pick-up tables to receive your t-shirt.

What information do I need to pick up my packet?

You must have a photo ID.

Is there an age requirement for the race?

No, please come out and bring your family and friends of all ages and enjoy the race. Minors need to be accompanied by an adult.

Where can I park?

Parking will be available in the 1st Street Parking Garage west of Indian Hill Boulevard, in the Metrolink Parking Lot on First Street east of College Avenue, in the VNA parking structure via the entrance on College Avenue, and on the streets and public parking lots that are not within the race course.  1st Street will be closed from Yale Avenue to College Avenue beginning at 5:30 a.m.

I will be participating in the 5K Run/Walk.  Do I also need to pay to register my child who will be in a stroller or wagon?

No, there is no additional fee or registration. If you have a young child in a stroller we ask that you keep to the sides or the back to allow other runners space. It is your responsibility to make sure your stroller does not impede other runners and you must take extra precautions to ensure your safety, your child’s safety, and the safety of the other runners around you.

My child wants to participate in both the 1K Fun Run and the 5K Run/Walk.  Does the child need to be registered in each event?

No. however, if they want to be timed, they need to be registered as a youth in the 5K Run/Walk; there are no timing chips in the bibs for the 1K Fun Run.

My young child will be participating in the 1K Fun Run.  Do I also need to register for the 1K Fun Run to accompany them during the run?

No.  One adult may accompany each child in the 1K Fun Run without registering for the 1K Fun Run.  However, each child participating in the 1K Fun Run must be registered.

Will there be lockers available to store my belongings during the race?

No. Please make arrangements to safeguard your belongings accordingly.

Can I have my dog run with me in the race?

Yes, BUT (1) the dog must be on a short leash (less than 4 feet long) and under your control at all times so as to not interfere with any other runners, participants, or spectators, and (2) participants with dogs must start at the back of the starting group.

Are there any discounts available?

No.  We have tried to keep the cost down and also please keep in mind that the registration fees go to the Claremont Sunrise Rotary Foundation and the proceeds are used for charitable purposes.

Will I receive a refund if it rains?

No.  Due to the nature of the industry, we have a strict no refunds policy. All registrants must acknowledge and initial this policy within the registration path. Please see Race Day Policy and Refunds under the Policies menu.

Will I receive a refund if I am unable to attend or participate in the race?

I am concerned about becoming dehydrated during the 5K race.  Will there be water available?

Yes.  Water Stations can be found at the start, finish and at designated water station(s) along the course.

How will I find out how fast I ran?

If you are registered for the 5K, your bib will have a chip in it that will record your time. It is important to have your bib fastened to you and visible. After you register, you can download the Turkey Trot Race App which you can use to find your time as well as how you placed in your race group (age and sex). You may also check our website under the results menu option.

I will be running on a team.  Will there be team times and team awards?

No.  Using the Turkey Trot Race App you will be able to determine the times of each of your teammates and other individuals by their bib number. You may also check our website under the results menu option.

Will there be a lost and found booth?

Yes.  Lost and found – including lost children – can be found at the Claremont Sunrise Rotary Booth at Harvard Avenue and 1st Street.
